Committees, Commissions, and Boards: Board of Missions
There shall be a Board of Missions to which shall be entrusted under the Bishop, the Missionary work of the Diocese. (Canon 27)
The Board considers applications for financial assistance received from mission churches, together with recommendations received from the Bishop and diocesan staff, and information received from the Finance and Budget Committee about the availability of funds for the ensuing calendar year, funds that are voted by Convention as part of the diocesan budget. These funds are awarded to mission congregations based on recommendations from the Board of Missions to Diocesan Council. The Board also makes periodic reports to the Council about the ministries of the mission churches.
The deadline for accepting grant applications for the budget year 2009 is 1 October 2008. No grants will be considered without submission of an Annual Report (due 1 October 2008) and an Audit (due 1 September 2008). You can find Board of Missions forms in PDF here.
